We're Hiring! HVAC/R Technician

Kimco is currently searching for an experienced Journeyman Refrigeration/HVAC Mechanic to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time position.

Position Purpose

In a cooperative, enthusiastic environment, the HVAC Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing and installing HVAC systems in commercial buildings. The successful candidate should have proven field experience and should be comfortable troubleshooting, diagnosing and fixing a variety of HVAC-related issues.

The ideal candidate should also have excellent customer service skills, and be comfortable performing consultations with customers, determining their needs, and assisting them in making HVAC-related decisions by discussing complex HVAC issues and potential solutions in a way that they can understand.

Qualifications & Skills Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• B Gas Ticket and/or 4th Level Apprentices required for the Central Okanagan, B.C. area.

• Refrigeration / HVAC Mechanic Certification.

• Experience in commercial and industrial HVAC/R service and maintenance work.

• Working knowledge of heating, air conditioning, refrigeration and boiler systems.

• Working knowledge of HVAC protocols and balancing air and water treatment systems.

• Valid B.C. driver’s licence.

• Critical thinker with problem solving skills.

• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented and confident multi-tasking.

• Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.

• Thrives in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

• Ability to work on-call for emergencies.
