As the seasons change, the Thompson-Okanagan’s leading building automation, HVAC, and electrical company, Kimco, reflects on what they’re grateful for in 2023.

At Kimco, we’re thankful for our amazing HVAC, building automation and electrical team that helps keep the lights on and the heat running in the Okanagan.

It’s gratitude season! When the fall colours start coming in, it’s time to take a step back and reflect on what we’re thankful for. At Kimco, we’re always grateful for many things: our wonderfully talented HVAC, building automation and electrical team, our incredible clients and all the adventures we have along the way.

Being thankful feels good long after the Thanksgiving turkey is done. The science behind giving thanks is there: gratitude can make you happier.

Whether science-backed or not, one thing is for sure: showing your appreciation in the home and at work is never a bad thing. Who doesn’t like to hear a “thank you” or “good job” from the people around them.

We asked our team: What are you grateful for this year? Here’s what they had to say:

  • “I am thankful and grateful for my wife, my 6 children and their spouses, and my 5 beautiful Grandchildren.” Chris, DDC Support
  • “This year I'm grateful for having a supportive family, my health and such a wonderful job.” Monique Covell, Dispatch
  • “This year I am grateful for starting my career in building automation at Kimco and also for getting my permanent residency in Canada.” Ashwin, Building Automation
  • "Be thankful for everything that happens in your life, it’s all an experience. I'm especially thankful for my family at home and at work! Kimco has treated me like family over the past 12 years. I'm very thankful for my Kimco experiences!” Baxter, HVAC/R Red Seal Technician

So if you’re ever feeling down or need a reminder that things aren’t so bad, take a moment to think about the things in life—little or big—that you’re thankful for. It just might bring a smile to your face!
