Kimco + BGC Okanagan: Eleven Tablets and a Long-Standing Friendship

The Kimco team passes along eleven donated tablets to BGC Okanagan staff at the Kelowna office. One more way Kimco shows up for the communities it calls home.

Some days on the job, it's not about the wiring or the controls. It's about the community!

This week, the team at BGC Okanagan (formerly Boys & Girls Club) stopped by the Kelowna office to pick up eleven tablets that Kimco donated in support of the club's programs for young people across the Okanagan Valley. The initiative came from Mark Hartwick, Director of Personnel and CFO, who recognized an opportunity to redirect the tablets toward a meaningful community use through BGC Okanagan.

It's a small thing on paper, and it's also not a small thing at all. BGC Okanagan gives kids and families a safe, supportive place to grow, and the people who run those programs do it with limited resources and a lot of heart. Kimco has been a part of that community for a long time, and this donation is just the latest chapter in a relationship that goes beyond a transaction.

We work in these communities, we live in these communities, and when a local organization like BGC does the kind of work they do every day, showing up feels less like charity and more like the obvious thing to do.

Thanks to the BGC Okanagan team for everything you do for our community, and for swinging by.
