The Goal

For the Maple Springs Bible Camp, a new staff housing building was needed to house staff year-round and expand programming for campers. That meant the building had to be safe and homey. Working with expert electric technicians from Kimco, the new successful building allows for:

More weeks of camp, which is more time for the kids to enjoy the outdoors.
More unique camps, like the Fall Mini Camp and Wilderness Camp.
Allows year-round staff to keep camp safe and well-maintained.

The Kimco Solution

In order to create a secure, comfortable housing building for the Maple Springs Bible Camp staff, Kimco tapped into their electrical expertise. There’s no place like home and units each include a standard electric range, clothes dryer, air conditioning, gas furnace and hot water tank. Additional work included:

Each unit has 4-inch pot lights, a mix of decorative fixtures in finished areas and keyless fixtures in the unfinished basement.
Each side has a 200 amp 120/240 volt combo panel with 100 amp sub feeds to basement units.
Receptacles installed to code for spacing and use of fast-acting GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupting) protected circuits, where applicable.
Other circuits have AFCI (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupting) circuit breakers.
Cat 5 cables, RG6 Coaxial and fiber cabling means strong and stable internet and communications.
Carbon dioxide and smoke detectors in hallways and bedrooms as per local building codes.
Kitchens with under and above counter LED lighting.

Overview:

A registered charity, Maple Springs Bible Camp offers affordable summer camps that give kids a chance to enjoy the outdoors, make friends and try out a variety of fun activities, just outside of Peachland. The fees are kept as low as possible, and a new staff housing building, completed in 2021, made it possible for the camp to offer more services to campers, year-round.
