Learn Kimco's philosophy on using new building automation technology to work smarter, stay connected, and get the job done right across BC's Interior.
The tools have changed. The great judgment our team brings to the job hasn't.
Technology and tools have changed a lot over the years, especially in the field of building automation. So, what’s our philosophy?
Kimco crews aren't chasing the latest tech for its own sake. When something makes the work smoother, communication clearer, or the job easier to hand off cleanly, we pay attention. That's always been how we approach it.
Real-time access to drawings and project details has made a genuine difference on-site. Less back-and-forth, fewer gaps between the office and the field, and more time spent on the actual work. When everyone is looking at the same information, things just move better.
The smarter building systems we install every day, things like BAS (Building Automation Systems) and DDC (Direct Digital Control), are also shaping how our own team thinks about installation and service… Essentially, we're both maintaining AND learning from our systems.
What hasn't changed is the reason any of it matters. The technology is there to support the people doing the work, not replace the judgment they bring to a job site. Our team still shows up, asks the right questions, and sees things through to the end… That’s the part we can’t automate.
