Published on: July 18, 2025
Kimco Controls is proud to support the George Pringle Secondary School project with advanced building automation—an investment in education, sustainability, and community.
The future George Pringle Secondary School reflects modern design, community pride, and a commitment to sustainability.
Kimco Controls is honoured to deliver the building automation and control system for the new George Pringle Secondary School. This project means a lot to us as professionals and community members. It’s a proud moment in commercial building automation for the Okanagan.
A Community Investment with Modern Comfort and Control
Working alongside Chapman Mechanical and Clark Builders, Kimco is proud to provide the HVAC building automation that will power a modern, energy-efficient, and comfortable learning environment. From innovative building energy management systems to advanced HVAC control integrations, our work will help reduce emissions and optimize energy usage for many years.
Beyond just a regular commercial HVAC install, the George Pringle project is a collaboration that reflects a shared commitment to innovation, sustainability, and community wellbeing.
Local Leadership in Building Automation Services
Our team is led by General Manager Kris Wiens and Project Manager Cole Church, two great people with decades of combined experience in building automation integration and HVAC automation systems. As proud local contractors, the Kimco team is thrilled to contribute to a school that will serve our future generations in West Kelowna and surrounding areas.
Kimco has long supported local institutions with industrial HVAC service, HVAC electrical, and building automation services that make buildings smarter, safer, and more efficient.
A future-ready learning environment takes shape: the new George Pringle Secondary School will serve generations of students and families in School District 23.
“This project represents more than just construction, it’s a meaningful investment into the future of our community … We are truly grateful for the opportunity to give back, and to play a role in delivering a modern, innovative educational facility that the community so deeply deserves. Our heartfelt thanks to SD#23, Clark Builders, and Chapman Mechanical for the trust and collaboration.”

A Facility Designed for the Next Generation
The new George Pringle Secondary School will support 1,200 students and include a Neighbourhood Learning Centre offering childcare, Indigenous programming, and family support services. Designed with sustainability at the forefront, the facility features geothermal heating, heat recovery, and automated lighting and HVAC systems. These systems will all work together through our advanced building automation control platform.
As Clark Builders shared in their award announcement, this 21st-century learning space will reflect both the vision of School District 23 and the cultural values of the broader West Kelowna community.
