Safer Systems: Kimco’s Path to COR Certification

At Kimco, the safety of our team has always been paramount. 

Like every other employer, our work relies on the health and safety of our people. That’s why we’re proud to be working toward COR® Certification: a nationally recognized program developed by the BC Construction Safety Alliance (BCCSA) and issued by WorkSafeBC.

The Certificate of Recognition (COR) verifies that a company has a fully implemented and effective occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS). These aren’t dry, unchecked policies, but real-world practices proven through rigorous documentation and field audits.

Kimco is currently a registered COR candidate with an assigned external auditor, and we are looking forward to adding it to our list of certifications. This process is voluntary, but we believe it’s a proactive investment in the well-being of our valued staff. Companies that achieve COR often see fewer injuries and improved team morale, and you can’t put a price on that.

Our Joint Health & Safety Committee meets monthly to track progress and reinforce best practices across every department:
