A: I love handling the details so the technicians can focus on their work. At the end of the day, it’s nice to see the team come together for the client.

Q: What’s a common challenge people might not realize the admin team deals with every day?

A: One of the biggest challenges is constant multitasking. We’re answering phone calls and emails, coordinating client needs with technician availability, and keeping work orders and invoicing on track—all at the same time.

Q: How do you ensure communication flows effectively between teams?

A: By sharing clear, timely information and knowing when a face-to-face conversation works better than an email.

A: Kimco saw my potential, even without an HVAC or automation background. They’ve supported me in building confidence and growing my skillset.

I’ve always been drawn to trades work. After graduating high school, I realized electrical was the career I wanted to pursue when a family member who was an electrician let me help out. What really inspired me was being part of projects that directly support our lives and businesses—you get to be on your feet and constantly learn new techniques and ways of completing the job.

One of the hurdles I’ve had to overcome in the trades is being underestimated, whether directly or passively. Fortunately, it has only made me aspire to be the best in my field. No matter who you are, trust and respect take time, and the work you produce speaks for you. I’ve also learned the importance of speaking up and building strong relationships with coworkers who value teamwork and skill.

Technical skills are important, but adaptability and problem-solving are also crucial. This industry and the role we play in our community are constantly changing. Being able to think critically and produce quality work is what sets you apart.

In areas like HVAC, plumbing, and electrical contracting, technology is making systems much safer and more efficient. We can monitor and adjust performance in real time, which improves comfort and safety. Controls can detect small issues before they become major problems. I see the future of construction moving toward building automation systems that work together seamlessly and give us full control of safety and comfort.

Kimco has provided mentorship and opportunities to work in a professional environment with diverse jobs. I’m constantly learning new things and becoming a more well-rounded electrician because of it.
